Taylor Fisher - 15

Trains at Santa Barbara Dance Arts. Taylor is choreographing and performing in two pieces. Her hip-hop piece pushes boundaries as she focuses on "breaking the mold."

Taylor is also co-choreographing a contemporary duet with Robin Zelko, which boldy advocates personal freedom and breaking free of the societal molds forced upon people. This piece is mentored by Nicole Helton.

Nathaniel Jinnies -

Trains jazz, hip hop and ballet at 14K Jules Dance Academy in Carpinteria. Mentored by Brooke Preston, his piece to Sia's, "Breathe Me" brings to light the inner struggle of facing life's tough realities.

Daniella Zermeno -

Has performed in every ON THE VERGE production. This year, Daniella will once again light up the stage with her stunning flamenco.

Nikki Pfeiffer, pictured, will perform in Taylor Fisher's hip hop work, as well as Sarah Friedland's contemporary work, "Earth Intruders." Nikki trains at Santa Barbara Dance Arts.

Pavel Machuca Zavarzina -

Is a student in UCSB's division of dance. His dance background includes modern, ballet and breakdancing. Mentored by Nancy Colahan, Pavel work, "Chain," with music by Toshikiko Sahashi is a moving modern solo.

Shelby Dunlap - 15

A student at Carpinteria High School trains at 14K Jules Dance Academy in Carpinteria. Shelby has performed at Disneyland, USC half-time shows, UCSB Basketball half-time shows, numerous competitions and for the Mattel "Happy Feet" preshow. For ON THE VERGE, Shelby will perform a fun Disco medley.

Anastasia Sugawihia -

Has diverse dance training in tap, ballet, jazz, hip-hop, flamenco and Mexican folklorico and trains at Cruz Dance & Entertainment Studio. Mentored by Rose Marie Cruz, Anastasia brings the spirit of Cab Calloway's memorable, "It Don't Mean A Thing If You Ain't Got That Swing," to life.

Chanel Pepper - 13

Trains at 14K Jules Dance Academy in Carpinteria. Chanel will dance with abandon to "Let It Be" from the Across The Universe soundtrack.

Robin Zelko - 15

Robin's hip hop trio set to music by Ciara, is a theatrical tour de force. Robin is also co-choreographing a moving contemporary duet with Taylor Fisher that promotes the rights of individual choice.

Sarah Friedland - 15

Has trained with Steven Lovelace and Alana Tillim at Santa Barbara Dance Arts for five years. During Junior High, Sarah lived in Rome, Italy and trained with the studio Mimma Testa. Sarah is a member of SB Dance Arts performing troupe, Axis, and has performed with them in SB Dance Alliance's BASSH. Sarah also works with the non-profit after school dance program for underserved youth, Everybody Dance Now. Sarah's piece, "Earth Intruders," is inspired by the human rights struggles of the women in Darfur. She is mentored by Tim Farley.

Hannah Ruth Brothers - 17

Attends Westmont College and has trained at Santa Barbara Ballet Center, Westmont College and UCSB. Her piece, "Down by the River" is a soulful lyrical piece mentored by Vicki Finlayson.

Joslyn Wood -

A student at Nordhoff High School in Ojai, Joslyn trains in the Nordhoff Dance Department under Kim Hoj. Josyln's piece set to, "She Will Be Loved," by Maroon 5, is an emotional piece about internal restriction and pain, and how one finds support and freedom.

Caityln Whittaker -

Attends Carpinteria High School and trains primarily at 14K Jules Dance Academy. Her piece, "Sorry," delves into the heartbreak of loving someone without having that same love returned.

Bryn Perkins -

Attends San Marcos High School and trains with Lisa Abshere at the Goleta Valley Community Center School of Ballet. Bryn's will perform a pointe solo about being lost and finding your own way, entitled, "Don't Fret."
