Dance Alliance is the virtual home for Dance in Santa Barbara County. Our members are professional dancers, aspiring dancers, dance students, new and just-for-fun dancers, established and emerging dance companies, dance lovers and performing arts audiences. All kinds of dance – all kinds of people!  As an annual “card-carrying” Dance Alliance member, you will connect our area’s rich Dance movement. Join the Dance Alliance and join the Dance Movement!

Fiscal Sponsorship Information

Fiscal Sponsorship Membership enables the use of Santa Barbara Dance Alliance's non-profit 501 (c)(3) status and SBDA services as follows

financial

  • Filing Federal, State, and Local tax informational returns including yearly 990 forms for funds that pass through SBDA
  • Receipt and acknowledgment of tax deductible grants and donations exceeding $100
  • Financial record keeping of Fiscal Sponsorship Funds that pass through SBDA
  • Yearly filing of 1099s, W2s, and 990 forms

insurance

  • General Liability Insurance up to $1,000,000 for events
  • Certificates of Liability for Additionally Insured venues by request

general administration

  • Use of our mailing list at a discounted rate: $.05 a label- maximum of $125
  • SBDA maintains staff, PO Box, phone, fax
  • Automatic membership with SBDA (a $40 per fiscal year value), includes membership benefits

grants

  • Copies of non-profit 990 federal non-profit income tax filings for your grants
  • Grant progress reports as needed sent to funders
  • Grant application revue upon request
  • Use of our 501(c)(3) status for grants
  • Use of a list of local foundation funding sources
  • Timely reminders of reports due to funders

annual fees

  • $500 yearly fee, including insurance
  • 5% of income processed up to $20,000 during the groups/annual fiscal sponsorship period
  • 7% of income processed over $20,000

Individuals or groups operating under the corporate fiscal sponsorship of Santa Barbara Dance Alliance are required to acknowledge SBDA prominently in all posters, ads and programs as a sponsor of their operations and events. Logos are available upon request.
